Abstract: |
The watching brief was carried out during groundworks for a new housing estate. A previous evaluation on site revealed a prehistoric gully and the watching brief again recorded parts of the gully running roughly east-west across the site. The finds indicated a Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age date and included: 26 calcined flints, struck flints (from the topsoil), 21 pottery sherds and a small fragment of burnt clay which could have been part of a furnace lining. No further study of the archaeological information recovered from the site was required. [AIP] |
