Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the development of the site. Several disturbances were seen to penetrate 1.5m of made ground which sealed the natural sand, but in each case they were fairly obviously of 19th or 20th century date. It was impossible to determine whether ditch 119, revealed during an earlier evaluation, continued eastwards across the site, due to the lack of controlled observation in its near vicinity, and the probability that, if present, modern disturbance had removed it over the remainder of the area.
