Abstract: |
Brane barrow was considered to be one of the best preserved chambered tombs in Britain. Despite suffering severe mutilation through animal erosion it remained a fine example of its type. When resources in the form of Cornwall Archaeological Unit's monument managment budget became available, repair of the damage was identified as a priority. Some flints were found around the entrance and it was also discovered that the grave was built on a natural mound. Future management of the site, which was situated within a cultivated field, was agreed between English Heritage and the farmer of the land. [AIP] |
