Abstract: |
This document was a report on a watching brief conducted at a development at Puttenham Golf Club, near Guildford. The site was on the slope of a hill, topped with the Scheduled Ancient Monument know as Frowsbury Mound, a bowl barrow of Neolithic or Bronze Age date. Following a trial pit evaluation in which a few struck flints were found, a watching brief was carried out on the topsoil-stripping of the construction area and the trenches for strip foundations and columns for the new building. No further significant archaeological material was recovered. [Au(abr)] |
