Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	An archaeological field investigation consisting of four phases of work was undertaken in advance of a proposed development. Phase 1 was a geophysical survey which did not reveal any significant archaeological features. Phase 2 consisted of evaluation trenches and Phase 3 was the following excavation which was targeted upon the features already identified in Phase 2. Phase 4 was a strip and record with targeted feature excavation. Finally, a watching brief was carried out at the during groundwork for the building. A series of intercutting ditches and gullies were recorded representing evidence of enclosures spanning the Romano-British period and related to animal stockades or settlement activity. Evidence of two roundhouse gullies and a possible drove-way was revealed, and together, may have represented evidence of animal husbandry and agricultural exploitation of the Levels. Further possible evidence of exploitation may have been attributed to a series of unexcavated/undated linear features revealed with Area 3 adjacent to and south-west of the main enclosure during Phase 4 stripping and recording.
