Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during groundworks for the construction of four houses. A number of artefacts were recovered, but no features were seen. Finds included a fire-fractured flint, two small flint flakes which were possibly of natural origin, a scraper likely to have been of later Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date, medieval and post-medieval building material, post-medieval pottery and a pig phalange. It was concluded that the findings of the watching brief had probably been limited because of the fact that the ground surface had been disturbed by machinery. It was noted that the range of artefacts was similar to that found at an adjacent development site. [AIP] |
