Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the site of a church which was to be renovated. Parts of the church dated from the 13th and 14th centuries; restoration had been carried out in the 19th century, and additions had been made. During the evaluation, a Victorian buttress, 18th-19th century pottery and a chalk and flint foundation were recorded. It was concluded that little archaeological information had been gained, but that the materials used for the foundation were noteworthy, as coursed stone might have been expected. [AIP] |
