Abstract:		 Desk-based assessment of a site proposed for development identified that a Bronze Age burial mound; a cropmark site of a prehistoric settlement underlying a possible medieval settlement and field system; the findspot of a Romano-British bowl; the site of a cross of 9th to 11th century date; three small settlements first recorded in the medieval period but of probable pre-Norman origin; a post-medieval quarry; the course of an old road; and part of the former North Cornwall Railway line to Padstow lay within the propsal area.
