Abstract: |
The evaluation consisted of 17 trenches followed by 15 deep test pits. The only Quaternary deposits found were occasional spreads of clay colluvium. No lithic artefacts were found. It was thought that any that were found in the future would have such an uncertain derivational history that they would be unsuitable for Palaeolithic research. A small amount of undated burnt flint was recovered from the post-Palaeolithic part of the site. More trenches were planned to coincide with the local wildlife habitats. [Au(adp)] |
