Abstract: |
Although the site lay within a rich archaeological landscape, the test pits near the centre of the site revealed no surviving archaeological deposits from the medieval, Roman or earlier periods. The recent use of the site however was of interest, since Second World War military sites had recently been the subject of a survey under English Heritage's Monuments Protection Programme. However, fuel stores such as this were not included.[Au(abr)] |
