Abstract: |
The archaeological monitoring undertaken during the groundworks was to establish if any medieval occupation layers remained under the concrete slab and in a footing trench. An occupation layer was identified with the occurance of peg tile, brick and animal bone. Under this layer was a flint cobble surface. A further occupation layer was uncovered and interpreted as a robbed footing of an earlier building. [Au(abr)] |
