Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on groundwork associated with gas main replacement works. Trenching to the north of the Friar Street and College Street junction identified a metalled road surface sealing a medieval deposit of a possible road surface or trampled midden deposits. A sandstone structure of possible medieval date was identified at the southern end of Friar Street. [Au(abr)]
