Abstract:		 An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site which lay within an area of old enclosures in the southernmost part of a medieval and post-medieval town. It was found that modern disturbance relating to a former shoe factory, apparently demolished after a fire in the early 1990s, had destroyed any earlier remains. [AIP]
