Abstract: |
Four archaeological trial trenches were excavated in advance of development, in an area of waste ground at Baldock Road. Features comprised drainage or boundary ditches and a pit. Dating evidence comprised a single pot sherd, dating to the Early or Mid Iron Age, but it was likely all the ditches were contemporary. The features were concentrated at the northern end of the evaluation area, close to the southern bank of the river Ivel. A deposit of alluvial soil recorded on the northern side of the site, in trenches 3 and 4, sealed the ditches in trench 4. [Au(adp)] |
