Abstract: |
The excavation uncovered further evidence of the Late Saxon settlement of Brandon. Features consisted mostly of ditches with the heaviest concentration at the north-west corner of the excavation. The quantity of finds recovered was low and, together with the feature distribution, suggested the site may have been close to the southern edge of the Late Saxon settlement already identified to the north. The number of medieval ditches and the quantities of finds recovered suggested that the site may have reverted to open fields during this period. [Au] |
