St Lawrence Church, Burnham, South Humberside: the excavation of a parochial chapel

Excavation of a prominent mound among DMV earthworks revealed well-preserved remains of a stone church built in later 10th century, with three subsequent phases before destruction in c 1550. Below it were pits and postholes of a timber predecessor of early 10th century. Pottery is quantified, and there was metalwork and a limestone torso.
