Abstract
Anthropomorphic wooden idols

Includes a reprint of a map, by Torsten Capelle (19), showing the distribution of finds dating from the Bronze Age to the Migration period. The majority are from Denmark.
Hemington Fields -- a medieval landscape (Leicestershire SK 459302)
Chris R Salisbury
24 - 32
Describes a variety of timber structures (dating from the eighth to the thirteenth century) unearthed during gravel quarrying near the confluence of the rivers Trent and Derwent. The structures include a mill dam and wheel race; forty-four fishweirs, and two bridges. The bridges are discussed in the context of other finds from the Trent and elsewhere.
Early Iron Age enclosures at Sutton Common, Yorkshire, England
Mike Parker Pearson

Summarises the results of excavations (conducted between 1989 and 1993) and subsequent analysis of the findings. The importance of the site is highlighted, but it is also reported that its archaeological potential is under threat because of documented deterioration of waterlogged deposits due to dewatering.
