Abstract
The transformation of tradition: the origins of the post-medieval ceramic tradition...
Chris G Cumberpatch
0
This paper examines some of the explanations advanced for the changes seen in pottery making traditions in Yorkshire and neighbouring areas during the period between c.1450 and c.1700. In addition to providing a critique of established views an alternative perspective on the observation that, in a matter of a few generations, the established medieval potting tradition, which dated back to the mid-eleventh century, changed radically and fundamentally, is provided.
Things are happening on the way to the forum... a review of `Britons and Romans: advancing an archaeological Agenda'
Adrian M Chadwick

Extensive paper by paper critique of a volume which ostensibly arose out of the debate concerning the development of national, regional and local research frameworks. Contends that no real framework is offered by which developer-funded fieldwork can be integrated into wider research goals (apart from the two 'urban themes' sections) and that no real mechanisms for implementing the research questions are proposed.
