Biography of K T Frost who came to Queen's as lecturer in 1909. Notes early course outlines and his interest in establishing an archaeological museum.

Following an evaluation excavation in the area of a suspected ecclesiastical enclosure in late 1993 a second, larger excavation was undertaken in the spring of 1994. Excavation revealed the truncated remains of a large prehistoric bank formed of material from a broad, shallow ditch which had been dug on its exterior and a less substantial ditch on its interior. Outside the bank was a succession of cobbled surfaces which yielded numerous flint flakes, artefacts and cores. One polished stone axe and some Neolithic pottery sherds were also recovered and a late Neolithic date is suggested. By the medieval period the bank had been much reduced and an enclosing wall was constructed -- it is thought around the ecclesiastical enclosure. The first small-scale rescue excavation to be undertaken in Newry was carried out in Abbey Yard in 1991, on the site of the Cistercian abbey. Animal bones, wooden fragments, shells, slag and pottery of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries were found in the ditch fill, as well as some disarticulated human bone. There are reports on:
