The Scottish Archaeological Research Framework was officially launched by Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs. More than 300 researchers were involved in its production. The documents can be accessed at www.scottishheritagehub.com.\r\n

The Scottish Nationality Museum at the University of Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania was opened in 1938. It is one of twenty nine rooms commemorating different nationalities. It is built in 17th-century style and items on display include statues of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. These were cast from the same moulds used to create the statues at the entrance to Edinburgh Castle.

The Scape Trust's new project, Scotland's Coastal Heritage at Risk (SCHARP)is harnessing modern technology to help improve our knowledge of eroding coastal heritage. Members of the public are signing up as Citizen Archaeologists to contribute to the project by undertaking ShoreUPDATE surveys to record the current condition of threatened archaeological sites around the coast.
