Abstract:
An account of two large collections of material, including some 250 pots, from old unsystematic excavations. The pottery suggests that both Angles and Saxons were represented among the first burials, before the end of Roman rule. Contacts with central and southern Germany are also seen, and there are hand-made copies of "Frankish biconi". At the end of 6th century a Sancton potter's wares reached S Lincs, the Trent Valley and E Anglia. There were few associated ornaments. The arrangement of the cemetery is noted.
