Abstract: |
Deals with the elaborately decorated town house underlying the late Roman shore fort and in the extra-mural settlement to N of the Classis Britannica fort. Over thirty reconstructed designs on the painted plaster are presented and argued as having a Bacchic theme; the building was probably a mansio for the entry port. |
