Abstract:
During May 2005 Norfolk Archaeological Unit excavated five evaluation trenches at the former Dolphin Autos premises on Nelson Street, Norwich. The site lay outside the historic core of the city but adjacent to St. Bartholomew''s church, the parish church of the medieval suburb of Heigham. Archaeological features were found in every trench but many related to 19th and 20th-century uses of the site. A series of medieval gullies were, however, recorded. It was more likely that they related to agriculture rather than direct occupation within the site itself.
