Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken at 27, The Hey, Wakerley Road, Barrowden (SP 950 002) by ULAS in February 2006. The work was commissioned by McCombie Smith Architects. Five trial trenches were excavated and the footings for one building were examined in order to assess the potential for the survival of archaeological remains. The evaluation produced no evidence for the presence of archaeology suggesting that the medieval village of Barrowden did not extend this far to the northeast. The site archive will be held by Rutland County Museum, under the Accession Number RT03 2006. |
