Abstract: |
A desk based assesment and field walk over was carried out in relation to the proposed sand and gravel extraction site at Melville Gates. Two sites of archaeological significance were identified in the form of a pillbox and section of the anti-tank ditch, which formed part of the Second World War anti-tank invasion stop line, known as the Command Line which spanned from Dysart on the Firth of Forth to Newburgh on the Firth of Tay. |
