Abstract: |
In response to an archaeological condition on the planning permission for new housing on land off Bromham Road, Biddenham, the Heritage Network was commissioned by Bewick Homes Ltd to undertake a programme of archaeological evaluation in advance of development. Five trenches were extended in order to investiagte whether archaeological features identified on the adjacent site to the north, extended into the present site. the two trenches at the eastern end of the study area revealed archaeological remains: a boundary ditch and posthole dating to the late Neolithic/early Bronze Age, running north south across the northeast end of trench 4, and a large feature in the southeast end of trench 5 which yielded a single small abraded sherd of prehistoric pottery. |
