Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by ULAS during groundworks at Quarry Road, Somercotes, Derbyshire (SK442 353). The site previously contained a large factory and had been developed throughout the 20th century, but is situated in an area, which may have been attractive to prehistoric settlers and is also near known post-medieval remains. The watching brief revealed that the site had been heavily disturbed by previous development and no archaeological remains or finds were revealed during the watching brief. The archive for this work will be deposited with Derby Museums and Art Gallery with accession number DBYMU2007-326.
