Abstract: |
Geophysical surveys of land either side of the A19 in advance of a proposed wind farm development. The area is known to have been exploited in prehistory. Geomagnetic survey was undertaken over eight separate areas within the proposed development area. The most significant archaeological feature detected was a curvilinear ditch on the west side of the A19. This was interpreted as possibly part of a prehistoric enclosure ditch. The report recommends that the survey results be evaluated by the excavation of a series of trial trenches. |
