Abstract:		 Northumberland National Park Authority approved an application for the construction and upgrading of access trackes on land to the west of Evistones Farm, Rochester, Northumberland. The site lies within an area of known archaeological potential relating to a nearby Romano-British settlement site and the deserted medieval village of Evistones, and as such deposits of archaeological significance may be disturbed by the scheme. A rapid desk based assessment was undertaken prior to works, and an archaeological watching brief was maintained on the groundworks.
