Abstract:
An evaluation was carried out on this site. There were few archaeological remains in most of the trenches. The most features were present in two trenches close to the High Road. The earliest features were three boundary ditches dating to between 1580 and 1700. The history of the site is dominated by successive school buildings. The earliest was bought in 1708, and may be represented by a very fragmentary foundation. The second phase school was built in 1748, and had been mostly demolished. The most recent school building had very strong, deep foundations.
