Abstract: |
90 test pits were hand dug in areas along the route of the proposed cambridge guided busway project in order to profile the soil and sub-soil. Two possible ditches and a possible pit of unknown date were identified in area G (NE of Longstanton), although no finds were recovered. A small quantity of medieval and a possible Iron Age sherd was recovered from the subsoil in area K, in an area close to the site of Westwick Hall. A possible feature was also recorded in this area. Test pits in area M, close to the A14 crossing, showed a high degree of modern disturbance. |
