Abstract: |
An archaeological trench evaluation of a hedgebank boundary was undertaken by AC archaeology at Premier Barton Farm, Higher Ashton Farm, Devon, in order to establish whether a field hedgebank might represent the position of a putative medieval deer park boundary. A single trench measuring 13m long was excavated across the boundary. The cross section of the boundary comprised a bank and associated shallow ditch typical of numerous field boundaries present throughout Devon and not a ditch associated with a former deer park. |
