Abstract: |
An archaeological field evaluation in advance of the construction of several holiday lodges. The evaluation comprised the machine-excavation of 11 trenches in an area between a recently excavated pond and the base of a rocky knoll upon which a putative Iron Age site (NN84NW 37) stands although this interpretation is considered dubious. Trenching revealed no features of archaeological significance, only evidence of extensive, natural silting over glacial deposits. |
