Abstract: |
January 2008. Oxford Archaeology carried out a second phase of evaluation at RAF Cardington, Buckinghamshire. The evaluation focused on three areas. The trenches in area C revealed no archaeology but was criss-crossed by service trenches. Area E had a high level of modern disturbance but three trenches revealed truncated pits and ditches of late Iron-Age to medieval date. In area H a single truncated undated ditch/ gully was revealed. Overall the recorded archaeological remains are poorly preserved having been subjected to both truncation through agricultural practices and modern disturbance. |
