Abstract:		 The Evaluation was carried out at the artificial wetlands area, on the western side of PDZ 5. Five trenches were initially proposed for excavation, however, due to on site constraints only 3 trenches were excavated (PDZ5.1, PDZ5.2 and PDZ5.3). These trenches are part of a larger scheme of archaeological investigations representing the archaeological sampling of approximately 5% of the wider development area. Alluvial and peat deposits were cleaned and recorded by the archaeological team, before being sampled and recorded in greater depth by a team of geo-archaeological specialists. Where water and contamination issues reduced the time the trench was open, not allowing the geo-archaeological team time to attend the excavation, samples were taken from the significant geological deposits by the archaeological team and recorded within plan and section drawings.
