Abstract: |
Transport for London (TfL) has been tasked with implementing the Cycle Hire Scheme within central London by May 2010. Approximately 10, 200 docking points at around 400 sites at a density of approximately nine sites per square kilometre are required. For sites it was deemed necessary Archaeological Impact Assessments have been completed to identify which sites would require further archaeological investigation. A generic Written Scheme of Investigation was written for all sites requiring further archaeological investigation. Docking station 00/610025 was deemed to need further archaeological investigation. This investigation consisted of an archaeological watching brief during the goundworks for the docking station. Archaeological features were observed during the watching brief. These features were the remains of two possible post-medieval structures. |
