Abstract: |
A topographical earthwork survey and watching brief was conducted by ULAS, during the construction of the Scalford and Wycomb Rising Mains between Scalford and Chadwell. A desk study identified a number of areas of ridge and furrow and other village earthworks requiring topographical survey and recording prior to commencement of the construction. A watching brief was also carried out during the excavation of ten access holes for direct drilling. No further archaeological finds or features were noted during the course of the work. The archive will be held by Leicestershire County Council Heritage Services under the accession number X.A188.2003. |
