Abstract: |
Archaeological, architectural, and documentary research as well as and structural surveys were carried out at Trelill holy well in 2000, to determine the extent to which various problems threatened the structure, and help inform the nature and extent of any remedial work required. Appraisal showed that although the well may first be recorded as early as the 14th century, the actual building is of 18th century date. The building was found to be basically stable, but a minimum of work was nonetheless recommended, to fully stabilise the structure and ensure its continued survival. |
