Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology during groundworks associated with the extension and conversion of an existing garage into a three bedroom residence at Church House, Lechlade. A series of brick and limestone walls and floor surfaces were identified. The heat-affected nature of some of the features and the quantities of tiles with aeration holes encountered suggest that these structures are associated with a malthouse depicted on site on the late 19th and early 20th-century Ordnance Survey mapping. |
