The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 The results of this DBA suggest that the PDA is in an area of high archaeological potential on the edge of the urban core of Bury St Edmunds. Although outside the town wall the PDA lays on the approach road to one of the medieval gates and is one of the major routes in and out of the town. Documentary and archaeological records show that Risbygate Street was a well established suburb by the early medieval period with dense residential and commercial occupation along the frontage and would be similar to the medieval streets within the urban core. There are reasonable grounds to suggest that preserved archaeological remains are present within PDA.
