Abstract: |
Level 3 standard building recording of buildings at Consall Flint Mill; originally established as a slitting mill in 1683 but converted for flint grinding by 1778. The buildings recorded included a range of settling arks alongside the Caldon Canal and six calcining kilns. The settling arks and kilns were all purpose built for the flint mill, probably during the 1840s. |
