Abstract: |
Evaluation trenchin followed by excavation produced evidence for three phases of Roman occupation. A 2nd-century ditch seems to have formed an enclosure. Later activity focussed on a 4th-century timber building, probably a workshop, built over a 3rd-century hollow. Iron forging was certainly taking place, and probably also smelting. A publication report is in preparation. |
