Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	Archaeological evaluation of school playing fields in advance of determination of planning application revealed possible prehistoric and Roman land surfaces, along with dense complex of Roman features of 3rd century date. Fragment of Beaker period pottery and a flint scraper indicate earlier activity. Terracing associated with the construction of the school playing fields has almost certainly removed large areas of archaeological remains.
