Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of three machine-excavated trenches, was undertaken by AC archaeology Ltd, within land at The Barton, North Tawton, Devon. The work was undertaken for the construction of a new agricultural building. Scheduled Monument 10384 comprises a complex of Romano-British military enclosures, including two forts and two marching camps.Only modern disturbance associated with the adjacent railway viaduct was encountered, with no evidence for any earlier archaeological activity or artefacts present. |
