Abstract: |
In April 2010 an archaeological evaluation was undertaken by ArcHeritage on behalf Keepmoat Homes at Site A, off School Street, Thurnscoe, South Yorkshire (NGR SE 4589 0595). Forty-three evaluation trenches were excavated in advance of development as part of a new housing estate. The majority of the archaeological features discovered were identified as drains which were related to at least two phases of field drainage systems. A small number of modern features, which were probably related to agricultural activity or ground testing, were also found. No other features of archaeological interest were identified. |
