Abstract: |
The watching brief was carried out during groundworks relating to a new bungalow. The site lies approximately 500m south of a Bronze Age barrow cemetery and 200m east of a medieval pottery kiln site found in 1962. The remains of Croyland Abbey lie 400m to the west. The watching brief did not locate any evidence of archaeological remains. However, a record was made of a sequence of alluvial silts and clays revealed in the trench sides. |
