Abstract: |
Morrison Construction commissioned SUAT Ltd to carry out an archaeological watching brief during the construction of the new Community Hospital at St Andrews. The work was carried out between the 4th December 2007 and 17th January 2008 in poor weather conditions. The removal of the topsoil by a JCB and a bulldozer was monitored by three SUAT archaeologists who worked at different times during different stages of the development. The site revealed few features of archaeological interest apart from extensive evidence of medieval rigg and furrow running mainly on a north-south alignment. The SUAT site code was SA61. |
