Abstract:
Area excavation of entire site footprint. Principal finds constituted 44 inhumation burials, one cremation in an urn and extensive ditch systems. The inhumation cemetery was used from the late 2nd to late 4th/early 5th century. The cremation dates to the late 1st or early 2nd century. The sequence of ditch systems dated from late 1st or early 2nd century through to the late 4th/early 5th century, although none of the ditches remained in use through the entire Roman period. A colonnaded enclosure dating to the 1st or 2nd century, probably built in timber, was recorded in the southern part of the site beyond the bounds of the cemetery
