Abstract:		 Between October 2010 and January 2011 Oxford Archaeology undertook a watching brief on the River Loddon near Aborfield Berkshire (centred at SU 7465 6799). The work was commissioned by the Environment Agency during the construction of a new fish and wildlife channel. The watching brief observed evidence for an earlier river channel and modern dredging of the river. No evidence for any earlier form of water management was encountered.
