Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during topsoil stripping for the laying of a new water main. A large pit was identified which upon excavation was found to contain the cremated remains of an adult female within a stone setting within an otherwise stone-filled pit, along with a quantity of Beaker pottery (including two probably whole pots) and what appears to be a re-flaked stone axe. |
